I’ve mentioned it before but I believe this needs to be said again: I am 16 years old. So with that in mind, it may come as a surprise that I have started RVLATION. However I believe this is a venture that has and will teach me skills valuable for a lifetime.
The first few questions that might come to me is why now? don’t you have your whole life ahead of you? And to that I say yes I do have time but I am not interested in waiting for “the right moment to start”
I firmly believe many people are given ideas or revelations, for ventures they should start or ideas that should be implemented to make a positive impact on the world. I also believe too many people don’t go after their dream idea. But I don’t pass any judgment on them especially as the world is unpredictable and chasing a dream is a high risk option.
To maximize my odds of success, I have started my venture “early” while I don’t have a formal 9-5 yet (just a summer job as a caddy) and am still in high school. This setup may make things hard for me now, but by making this sacrifice I can build a solid brand foundation that will be built upon as I grow and learn.
Through building a brand identity and strong values that will steer my venture through challenges and victories yet to come, I set up a foundation for major decisions in my life. That is because my values don’t just guide my brand, they guide me, and my brand simply expresses that.
For that reason, I say no to waiting on RVLATION. I started already and have built a foundation for how I will go about the rest of my life through the values expressed through my venture as a vessel for self-expression.
This hasn’t come without sacrifices. Like many of my peers, social media, while it may make us feel connected, can also be a source of stress or unhealthy comparison. In this modern era it’s not uncommon to see people who have achieved incredible success post and become gurus for people on the journey to fulfillment. Comparing oneself to others in different unique situations is an unhealthy practice that can only be fixed through self-awareness and self-actualization.
By being aware of myself I know where I am at and achieving self-actualization is taking the necessary steps to realize one’s maximum potential and purpose.
Through this venture, through starting young and through this very blog post. I am learning about myself, my values and my purpose for how I plan to approach the rest of my life.
